Norwalk River

User Rating: / 2

The Norwalk River is located in southwestern Connecticut and begins in ponds in Richfield, Connecticut.  These ponds are considered one of the purest lakes in Connecticut because they are filled by underwater springs. The river runs approximately 21 miles long and the name Norwalk originates from the Algonquian language and means “point of land.” People use the Norwalk River for fishing and catching oysters along the banks.
